The Nioxin Clarifying Shampoo can be used on color-treated or highlighted hair, but with caution. It’s formulated to deep clean product buildup, hard water minerals, and excess oil, which can sometimes fade or dull hair color if used too often.
For highlighted or color-treated hair:

Use the clarifying shampoo only once every 1–2 weeks to refresh the scalp and remove buildup.

Follow immediately with a color-safe conditioner or deep treatment to restore moisture and protect the color.

For regular cleansing, switch to a gentler daily shampoo, like Nioxin System 3 or System 4 Cleanser, which are formulated for color-treated hair.
