Products get discontinued through manufacturers all the time, we are unsure why this product has been discontinued. Products will occasionally have an expiration date or best-by date and it will typically be on the box, at the bottom of the product, etc. The best way to determine is to look for a symbol on the bottle for the item's shelf life after being opened, it is typically 6, 12, 24 months, etc. Below is a similar item;
