Hi!
You can definitely combine an oil serum with this moisturizer. Moisturizers serve as a barrier to moisturize the skin but also trap in any other products (like serums) that you have previously used. I think for best results use a hydrating serum and then apply this moisturizer over it. If you want something lightweight and effective you can even try using an ampoule before applying moisturizer.
